The striking employees of JSC "Ozenmunaigas" have returned to work, reports the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of JSC "KazMunayGas."
"The workers of the drilling department at JSC 'Ozenmunaigas' have resumed work in full force. On December 5, 2024, further negotiations were held with the labor union of the drilling department of JSC 'Ozenmunaigas' (UAB OMG). As a result, the following decisions were reached: the unauthorized protest has been terminated; the employees of the drilling department of OMG have returned to their workplaces in full; issues requiring clarification and discussion will be addressed at the meeting of the reconciliation commission in strict accordance with the legislation and within the legal framework," the press release from the Kazakh oil and gas company states.
KMG noted that according to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, labor relations should be regulated directly between the employer and employees based on constructive dialogue, without the interference of third parties.
"KazMunayGas" is always open to dialogue and ready to establish effective interaction to address current issues within the framework of the existing legislation," emphasized the national company.
It is worth recalling that media reports indicated that on November 12 in Zhanaozen, workers from the drilling department halted production and held a rally. They put forward demands to eliminate unemployment, revert to the 2013 collective agreement, and switch to a separate wage system. They also demanded the hiring of children of retirees from "Ozenmunaigas" and children of employees who have lost their health due to work-related injuries.
