ARRFR has provided data details regarding the banking sector.
Banks have issued loans to the economy amounting to 31.5 trillion tenge, reflecting a growth of 12.9% since the beginning of the year. Businesses received 12.1 trillion tenge in loans, while individual entrepreneurs were granted 2.1 trillion tenge in loans.
Kazakhstani citizens have been issued loans totaling 19.5 trillion tenge, representing a growth of 16.6% since the start of the year. Consumer loans accounted for 12.9 trillion tenge.
The mortgage portfolio of banks reached 5.8 trillion tenge. In the first nine months of 2024, 1.4 trillion tenge was issued for mortgages. Of this amount, 498.2 billion tenge was allocated under market conditions, while 875.8 billion tenge was issued on preferential terms. In September 2024, the weighted average interest rate on loans granted to the population in tenge rose to 20.1%.
Resident deposits increased by 1.4% in September 2024, reaching 36.7 trillion tenge, primarily due to a 1.6% rise in tenge deposits, which grew by 458 billion tenge to 28.9 trillion tenge.
Foreign currency deposits rose by 0.9% or 66 billion tenge, reaching 7.9 billion tenge. The dollarization level of deposits continues to decline, standing at 21.4% as of October 1 of this year, influenced by a high base rate and low rates on foreign currency deposits, compared to 25.0% during the same period last year.
