President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso will visit Kazakhstan from October 31 to November 1, 2024. This was reported to the correspondent of the business information center Kapital.kz by the bank's press service.
Odile Renaud-Basso will meet with Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, hold a bilateral meeting with the leadership of the Asian Development Bank, and sign agreements on several sustainable infrastructure projects.
The EBRD President will co-chair the plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council, which celebrates its 26th anniversary this year. She will also speak before the Global Council of Business Women and inaugurate a new bank office in Astana.
"Odile Renaud-Basso will address the importance of renewable energy sources for Kazakhstan's economy, the growing role of public-private partnerships in addressing critical infrastructure challenges, as well as issues related to interregional transportation links and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises," the bank stated.
To date, the EBRD has invested 10 billion euros in 330 projects in Kazakhstan, with a significant portion of these funds aimed at supporting private entrepreneurship.
