The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, held a meeting of the commission on the demonopolization of the economy, during which issues related to the implementation of the presidential decree "On Measures for Economic Liberalization" were discussed, reports Primeminister.kz.
Presentations on the ongoing work were made by Deputy Prime Minister Nurlan Baibazarov, Chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition Marat Omarov, and heads of relevant government bodies and departments.
Additionally, the commission was provided with information regarding the activities of the company JSC "Dosjan Temir Joly," which is responsible for ensuring the transportation process on the railway line "Station Shar – Ust-Kamenogorsk." The authorized bodies established that the company, taking advantage of its monopoly position, had repeatedly unjustifiably raised tariffs for its services, leading the commission to decide to introduce appropriate tariff regulation in accordance with antimonopoly legislation.
The commission was also informed about the results of the analysis of the activities of the electricity distribution company LLP "Shet-Energo." Due to the company's regular emergency situations and to prevent harm to the life and health of local residents, a decision was made to appeal to the court for the requisition of the company's assets in favor of the state.
Alongside this, the commission addressed issues concerning the activities of the subsidiary of JSC "National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy," as well as organizations involved in water supply and wastewater management, and entities in the petrochemical complex.
