What amount will be allocated to children under the National Fund program in 2025?

The Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, Madi Takiyev, revealed the amount that Kazakh children will receive under the "National Fund - Children" program in 2025, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.

During a plenary session of the Senate, Deputy Nurtore Zhusip inquired about how the funds in children's accounts within the ENPF will be protected from inflation and devaluation. He pointed out that the program affects 6.9 million children and asked how attracting targeted transfers from the National Fund would impact its assets, as well as the implementation of the program itself.

"Since the beginning of the year, starting from February 1, we have begun to deposit money for children - citizens of Kazakhstan. These are the first funds from the National Fund that are being credited to their accounts. If this continues, will it not lead to a decrease in the assets of the National Fund and worsen the financial situation of future generations? What specific amount will be credited to children by the end of 2024, in 2025?" - asked the senator.

The Finance Minister responded that the funds in children's accounts are held in dollars, which, according to him, protects them from inflation. He also noted that these funds grow through investment income.

"This year we expect a return of 2.6%. Next year, if the situation remains stable, the income could reach up to 3%. As a result, by January 1, 2025, there will be approximately 118-120 dollars in children's accounts instead of 100 dollars. However, we will announce the exact figure by February 1," Madi Takiyev stated.

Thus, in 2025, Kazakh children's accounts will receive around 120 dollars, which is 20 dollars more than in 2024.
