Additionally, the report indicates that 90% of the drop card holders are citizens residing abroad. Their information has been forwarded to the law enforcement agencies of those countries.
To gain access to internet banking, third-party SIM cards were used. The drop cards were primarily employed for drug trafficking, cybercrimes, and illegal gambling.
Most often, drop card holders were students, retirees, and unemployed individuals aged 20-30, meaning they were financially vulnerable individuals who were unaware that they were participating in a criminal scheme.
