The plan for land reclamation set for this year has already been exceeded, with development having commenced in some areas.

According to information published on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, since the beginning of the year, 161,064 hectares of agricultural land have been returned to state ownership in the region. The target established by the Committee for Land Resource Management of the Ministry has been surpassed by 23.9%.

The Department for Land Resource Management in the region carries out state control over the use and protection of land. According to the agency, development has begun on 11,500 hectares. Lease agreements for illegally allocated 4,050 hectares have been annulled, and 12,000 hectares have been reclaimed through court rulings. Currently, cases concerning an additional 6,335 hectares are under consideration in the courts.

It is also reported that 94,300 hectares of land were returned voluntarily, while 46,700 hectares were returned due to the expiration of the lease term.
