The leader of our state emphasized that BRICS is evolving into a global center of international attraction, which has garnered practical interest from many countries seeking mutually beneficial cooperation.
According to the President of Kazakhstan, the multilateral efforts of BRICS harmoniously complement the activities of the UN, which remains an irreplaceable and universal structure.
The head of state expressed concern regarding the escalating situation in the Middle East.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the voices of Global South countries must resonate significantly in addressing issues of peace and security. Furthermore, the head of state highlighted the dynamic growth of Kazakhstan's trade with BRICS countries, which accounted for half of the country’s external trade turnover in 2023. The promising areas for mutually beneficial partnership mentioned in the speech include sectors such as trade and investment, IT technologies, critical minerals, food security, education, and tourism.
Special attention was given in the speech to strengthening cooperation in the transit and transport sector, primarily within the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the international transport corridor "North-South," and the Trans-Caspian international transport route.
The necessity of establishing reliable partnerships within the "BRICS plus" framework was noted to enhance energy security and to address the consequences of climate change, such as water scarcity, extreme temperature increases, and desertification.
In conclusion, the President emphasized that joint efforts in the "BRICS plus" format would significantly enhance interconnectedness between the North and the South, eliminate developmental imbalances among states, substantially strengthen international security, and create conditions for global progress.
