A meeting took place in Almaty between the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliyev, and the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade, as well as the head of the Trade Development Organization of Iran, Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi, where they discussed increasing mutual trade turnover between the two countries.
The Minister emphasized that Iran is one of Kazakhstan's key partners in the Middle East, and Kazakhstan is prepared to boost trade turnover with Iran to $3 billion, offering over 60 types of goods. The list includes grains, sunflower oil, meat, and other products.
In February, a trade and economic mission and a business forum are scheduled to take place in Tehran, which will further strengthen bilateral ties between the countries, facilitate direct contacts between Kazakh producers and Iranian buyers, and provide an opportunity to expand Kazakhstan's export potential.
Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Iran in 2024 amounted to $296 million, which is an increase of 8.1% compared to 2023. Exports from Kazakhstan to Iran also rose by 29.1%, totaling $100.6 million. Currently, the main goods supplied to Iran from Kazakhstan include barley, wheat, rapeseed seeds, corn, sunflower oil, and various types of meat.
