Two judges in Kazakhstan were dismissed for serious violations of the law.

During the latest meeting of the Judicial Panel at the Supreme Judicial Council, seven disciplinary cases involving seven judges were reviewed, according to NUR.KZ, citing the Supreme Judicial Council.

According to information shared on the Telegram channel of the Supreme Judicial Council, following the review of cases involving serious legal violations, three judges have been subjected to disciplinary action: one judge received a warning , while two judges faced sanctions resulting in their removal from office .

"Disciplinary proceedings against four judges have been terminated. Of these, one was due to the absence of a disciplinary offense, one due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for prosecution, and two judges resigned voluntarily," the Supreme Judicial Council reported.

Additionally, a request for the early lifting of a previously imposed disciplinary sanction against another judge was denied.

The decisions of the Judicial Panel have not yet entered into legal force, as the judges subject to disciplinary sanctions have the right to appeal, the council explained.

It is worth noting that the official website of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan states that the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan is an autonomous state institution established to ensure the constitutional powers of the President of Kazakhstan in forming the courts, as well as to guarantee the independence and inviolability of judges.

Since September 2024, the Supreme Judicial Council of Kazakhstan has been headed by Dmitry Malakhov.

According to the law "On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan," a Judicial Panel is formed to review disciplinary cases concerning judges.

In their activities, members of the Judicial Panel are independent and are guided solely by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Constitutional Law, the Law, and the present Regulation.

The Judicial Panel consists of six judges, ensuring representation of judges of all levels. It also includes two representatives of the public and one member of the Supreme Judicial Council from among the judges, who have the right to a consultative vote.
