Hasenov reported that the group of companies "KazMunayGas" extracted 23.8 million tons of oil and condensate, which is 1.3% higher than the figure for 2023. To maintain the production level, a Technological Challenges Program is being implemented, which involves utilizing enhanced oil recovery methods tailored to the characteristics of each field.
The President was informed that the design phase of the "Kalamskas-More" project, valued at $6.4 billion, has commenced. Additionally, in 2024, drilling operations began at the Turgai Paleozoic, Karaton Podsolovy, Karazhar, and Taisogan fields, which have resources exceeding 800 million tons in oil equivalent.
The volume of oil transportation increased by 4% compared to 2023, reaching 83.6 million tons.
Domestic oil refineries processed 17.44 million tons of oil. To meet the domestic market's needs, the production of light oil products has been increased by 370,000 tons.
As reported by the chairman of the board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas", a project is underway to increase bitumen production to 750,000 tons per year at "CASPI BITUM". Preliminary construction works have also started for a polyethylene plant project worth $7.4 billion, which will produce 1.25 million tons of products annually.
In the Mangistau region, the construction of a desalination plant is underway to provide drinking water to the residents of Zhanaozen, and the construction of a hybrid power plant with a capacity of 247 MW has also begun.
The President was also presented with information on the implementation of social projects in the country's regions.
At the end of the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to continue active work in geological exploration, the realization of major investment projects, and the development of the oil and gas chemical industry.
