Sauranbayev announced that key production indicators have increased. The Kazakhstan-China routes transported a record 32 million tons of cargo (+13.1% compared to 2023), while the freight turnover reached 272 billion ton-kilometers. Container transit rose by 8.8%, totaling 1.4 million TEUs.
The President was briefed on major infrastructure projects and the execution of directives aimed at enhancing transit potential. To attract cargo flows, the terminal network is being expanded:
- A terminal has been launched at the dry port of Xi'an (China) for transit along the Trans-Caspian route.
- Construction of terminals in Almaty, the Alyat port (Azerbaijan), Budapest (Hungary), and Selyatino (Russia) has begun.
- In collaboration with the Lianyungang port, the establishment of a container hub in Aktau is underway.
New projects aimed at developing infrastructure, expanding the terminal network, and implementing digital solutions were also presented.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of active work in these areas, noting that the implementation of these initiatives will strengthen Kazakhstan's position as a key transit hub in Eurasia.
