Kazakhstan's Halyk Bank is increasing the fees for transfers made using phone numbers, according to Bizmedia.kz.
Halyk Bank has announced an increase in fees for transfers made using phone numbers.

Previously, the commission for the Visa Alias service (transfers using a phone number to any major bank in Kazakhstan) was 200 tenge, but starting from February 13, 2025, it will increase to 500 tenge.

In Kazakhstan, there is a proposal to raise the minimum amount for monitoring mobile transfers to one million tenge. This information was provided by the Ministry of Finance.

The department clarified that, in collaboration with the National Bank and commercial banks, a decision was made to establish a new threshold: if the total amount of mobile transfers exceeds 1.02 million tenge (12 minimum wage amounts) within three months, such transactions will be subject to mandatory control.

This new regulation will be similar to the requirements for registering individual entrepreneurs, where the annual income must also exceed 12 minimum wage amounts. The order has already been submitted for review by the National Bank.
