American billionaire, owner of the social network X, and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, has broken his own record and once again become the richest person in the world, reports Tengri Life citing РИА Новости.
"Elon Musk's net worth reached a historic high of $347.8 billion on Friday," according to information from Bloomberg.
It is reported that this result is partly due to the continued rise in Tesla's stock prices. Additionally, Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. elections has brought the businessman into the political spotlight. The previous record of $340.4 billion was set by Musk in November 2021.
Jeff Bezos ranks second in the publication's list with $219 billion.
On October 1, Forbes also reported that Musk remains the richest person in America for the third consecutive year, with his fortune estimated at $244 billion.
It is worth noting that Donald Trump, who won the presidential elections in the U.S., announced that billionaire Elon Musk and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, a former presidential candidate from the Republicans, will lead a new department aimed at enhancing the efficiency of government management.
Musk stated that their appointment would "shock the system and all those involved in government budget waste, which is a significant number of people."
Trump's intention to appoint the head of Tesla and SpaceX to a position in the new American government represents an "unprecedented challenge," according to former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. In her view, politics should define the social balance between influential individuals and ordinary citizens.
