A homemade adhesive is just as effective as store-bought super glue.
You will need:
— acetone;
— foam;
— disposable container: bottle, canister;
— pliers;
— rubber gloves;
— wooden stick for stirring.
Preparation:
Break the foam into pieces no larger than 5 centimeters. Do not throw away the crumbs.
Pour enough acetone into the container to create the desired amount of glue. Add the foam to the solvent and wait for it to dissolve. Continue adding more foam as it disappears into the liquid.
Stir the mixture with the wooden stick. You should achieve a thick, sticky mass that resembles honey in consistency.
The resulting mixture has impressive adhesion. It can be used to bond items made of wood, plastic, metal, and even glass. It is excellent for repairing small cracks in plastic. The hardened substance fills in the defects and makes them invisible.
The glue is usable for 30−60 minutes. After that, it hardens. Dispose of any leftover material separately; do not pour it down the sink or toilet.
