She explained that if someone, for instance, a public figure, posts online about going on vacation, criminals interpret this as a signal that no one is home. And if a key is hidden under a mat or in a closet, it serves as an invitation for burglars.
She also added that it is crucial to exercise caution and pay close attention to personal information security, and it is strongly discouraged to leave keys with neighbors as this poses a security risk.
Residents of ground-floor apartments are advised to install window bars and consider setting up an alarm system, even a simple one, to significantly enhance their safety.
