A ceremonial event was held to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Cambodia.
High-ranking officials from Cambodia participated, including Minister of Tourism Huot Hak, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Houn Phon Rattanak, the Vice-Governor of Phnom Penh, leaders and staff from various government institutions, Cambodians educated in the former USSR, the diplomatic corps accredited in Cambodia, representatives from the scientific community, media, and business, as well as citizens of Kazakhstan residing in Cambodia.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Cambodia, Kanat Tumysh, spoke about the 30-year history of relations between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the establishment of the Kazakhstan-Cambodia parliamentary friendship group. He noted that direct flights from Kazakhstan to Cambodia on the Almaty-Sihanoukville route were launched in October 2024. The diplomat also emphasized plans to translate the treatise "On the Necessity of Striving for a Perfect State," written by the great medieval Turkologist Al-Farabi, into the Khmer language.
The Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Houn Phon Rattanak, conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries.
Speaking about the development of relations, the Secretary of State noted that the Cambodian side is interested in continuing relations with Astana in all directions. He particularly emphasized that the gradual strengthening of relations with Kazakhstan across all areas is considered a priority for his country.
