By the decree of the head of state, Sharalpaev Kanat Bisimbaevich has been appointed as the assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on economic issues, and he has been relieved of his previous position, reports the Kapital.kz business information center, citing the press service of Akorda.
Sharalpaev Kanat Bisimbaevich was born in 1981 in the Russian Federation. He graduated from Saratov State Socio-Economic University and Cranfield School of Management (United Kingdom) with a degree in economics, holding a master's in finance and management.
Career
He began his professional career in 2003 as a manager in the Client Relations Department of Petrocommerce Bank in the Russian Federation. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a specialist in the Financial Department of Citigroup in London (United Kingdom) and Prague (Czech Republic). From 2008 to 2014, he served as a senior analyst, assistant to the vice president, and vice president of the Regional Division for equity markets at Citigroup (United Kingdom). From 2014 to 2015, he held the position of vice president of the Regional Strategic Planning and Analysis Group for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Citigroup in the United Kingdom. From 2015 to 2017, he was the Chief Financial Officer, Deputy Chairman of the Board, and Senior Vice President of Citibank Kazakhstan. From 2017 to 2020, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan, and Senior Vice President of Citibank in the Russian Federation. In 2020, he was appointed as the Regional Director for Strategy, Planning, and Analysis in the emerging markets of Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe at Citigroup (UAE).
Since February 2022, he has been the Chairman of the Board of JSC "National Managing Holding "Baiterek."
On September 4, 2023, he was appointed as the Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
