Kazakhstan and the Muslim Council of Elders are enhancing their collaboration.

Senate Deputy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Darkhan Kydyrali, held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Muhammad Abdel Salam, in Abu Dhabi, as reported by DKnews.kz.

During the meeting, the senator conveyed warm wishes from the Chairman of the Senate, Maulen Ashimbayev, to the Secretary-General and presented an official invitation to the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will take place in September in Astana.

In turn, Mohammed Abdel Salam emphasized the importance of the initiatives by Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev aimed at promoting interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue and expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan for the invitation.

The parties also discussed the activities of the branch of the Muslim Council of Elders in Astana and its future work plans. In this context, the issue of potential joint initiatives aimed at strengthening religious tolerance and mutual understanding between various cultures and peoples was addressed.
