Kazakhstan will assist Congo in developing a remote sensing system for land monitoring.

The official signing of the investment agreement for the development and implementation of a high-resolution Earth remote sensing space system for the Republic of Congo took place on February 4, 2025, at the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan. The document was signed between JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary" and representatives of the Republic of Congo, as reported by the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Digital Development.

The project aims to advance space technologies in support of national security, monitoring of natural resources, agriculture, ecology, and urban development in the Republic of Congo. The agreement includes the creation of a high-tech satellite platform capable of monitoring the Earth's surface with high precision and operational efficiency.

The signed agreement allows the Republic of Congo to join the international group of Earth remote sensing satellites, which already includes Mongolia. This lays the foundation for expanded international cooperation in the field of space technology development, ensuring data exchange and advanced solutions in monitoring and analytics.

"In addition to the satellite platform, Kazakhstan offers a comprehensive solution that includes training and knowledge transfer. Kazakhstan is strengthening its position as a center for technological development, and international partners trust our solutions. This is already the second successful export, confirming the high level of the domestic space industry," emphasized the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev.

On September 2, 2024, the parties signed a Roadmap for cooperation under the Memorandum on Earth remote sensing, marking an important step in the preparation for this agreement.

This agreement will strengthen strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Congo in the space sector, promoting the expansion of bilateral interaction and the development of new technological initiatives.

It is worth noting that earlier, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov stated that Kazakhstan would actively support the development of IT technologies and services. According to him, over the past five years, the export of domestic IT services has increased twentyfold, reaching $600 million by the end of 2024.
