Kazakhstan ranks among the leaders in establishing technology companies valued at $1 billion and $10 billion.

This pace is comparable to that of leading ecosystems worldwide, such as those in the USA and China.

At the international forum Digital Almaty 2025, Yoram Wijnjaarde, the founder and CEO of the startup and venture capital analysis platform Dealroom.co, highlighted Kazakhstan's growing role in the global innovation market. He emphasized that the country is becoming a significant player in the startup ecosystem of Central Asia, accounting for 15–20% of the venture investments directed towards the region.

According to Wijnjaarde, Kazakhstan is demonstrating impressive growth rates in its technology sector. He particularly noted the emergence of companies valued at over $10 billion, referred to as "decacorns." An example of such success is Kaspi.kz.

"Kazakhstan is not only catching up but also surpassing the USA in the dynamics of decacorn emergence, indicating the high potential of the local ecosystem for attracting international investments and creating world-class companies," he emphasized.

As part of its work, Dealroom.co has already analyzed 101 Kazakhstani startups. Wijnjaarde expressed confidence that collaboration with Astana Hub will significantly expand the database and allow for a deeper assessment of the local startup ecosystem's capabilities.

The integration of Kazakhstan into the Dealroom.co platform opens access to international investments and partnerships, which will serve as a driver for the development of startups, accelerating their entry into global markets and strengthening the country's innovative potential.

Digital Almaty 2025 is taking place from January 31 to February 1 at the Atakent Exhibition Center. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Almaty Akimat, and the AKF "Park of Innovative Technologies."
