Air Astana has become the first airline in Central Asia and the CIS to join the CO2 Connect initiative of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), as reported by Bizmedia.kz, citing the airline's press service.

The CO2 Connect project enables the measurement of CO2 emissions using accurate data collected from airline operational information and actual flight routes. To enhance the accuracy of carbon emissions calculations, Air Astana will provide up-to-date data. The company has joined a community of more than 50 airlines that support the initiative to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
