Kazakhstan's banks will transition to the international standard ISO 20022. So far, this has been announced by Eurasian Bank, Home Credit Bank, Freedom Bank, RBK, Bank CentrCredit, Forte Bank, and Otbasy Bank.
There have been no updates from Halyk Bank and Kaspi Bank yet.
Starting January 13, 2025, Kazakhstan's payment system will adopt the ISO 20022 standard. These changes will affect interbank transfers and payments to the State Revenue Committee, the state corporation "Government for Citizens," and the Treasury Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In connection with the transition to the new standard:
- Services of ForteBank will be unavailable from January 10 (18:00) to January 13 (00:00).
- Services of Bank CentrCredit will be suspended on January 12 from 02:30 to 06:05.
- Eurasian Bank will stop accepting payments in MT format starting January 10.
When making payments, senders must now specify the actual payer (the one making the payment), the actual recipient (the one receiving the money), as well as the country code of residency if the recipient is a non-resident.
