Today, February 28, the international judo tournament of the Grand Slam series kicked off in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), as reported by Sports.kz referencing Olympic.kz.
Unfortunately, none of the Kazakhstani team managed to reach the final stages. All the judokas who competed on the opening day were eliminated in the early rounds of the tournament.
In the men's category up to 60 kilograms, Nuradil Alzhan lost in his first match to Kamollidin Bakhtiev (Uzbekistan). In the under 66 kilograms category, Yerdaulat Bozsha was defeated by Abdurakhim Nutfulloev (Uzbekistan), while Yerzhan Erenkaipov lost to Kazbek Naguchiev (UAE).
In the women's competitions, Galiya Tynbaeva in the under 48 kilograms division was unable to overcome Akhliya Muminova (Tajikistan), and Diana Bukreeva faced defeat from Sabina Gillyazova (Russia).
Kundyz Zhilkybay (under 52 kilograms) concluded her participation after losing to Maria Comas (Spain). Meanwhile, Bakyt Kusakbaeva (under 57 kilograms) was defeated by Irina Zueva (Russia).
All matches were the first for our athletes in this tournament.
