"KazMunayGas" and "Tatneft" have commenced drilling the first exploratory well, reaching a depth of 5,500 meters in the Karaton Podsolevoy area, reports a correspondent from the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of KMG.
The drilling operations were initiated with the participation of the Chairman of the National Company Askat Khasenov, the General Director of Tatneft Nail Maganov, and the First Deputy Chairman of KMG Kurmangazy Iskaziev.
"The start of drilling the first exploratory well in the Karaton Podsolevoy area is a significant step towards strengthening Kazakhstan's resource base. This project demonstrates our commitment to strategic priorities aimed at increasing reserves and developing challenging subsurface areas. We are confident that our collaborative efforts with Tatneft will yield tangible results and make a substantial contribution to the country's oil and gas potential," emphasized Askat Khasenov.

The Karaton Podsolevoy area is located near the large Tengiz field and the operational fields of "Embamunaygaz."
