Chinese company AgiBot plans to manufacture robots in Kazakhstan.

The Chinese company AgiBot plans to establish a joint venture in Kazakhstan for the production and implementation of robots, as reported by the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development.

"A memorandum of intent was signed between the Minister of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry, Jaslan Madiyev, the leadership of AgiBot, ewpartners, and JSC 'Qazaqstan Investment Corporation' at the annual Digital Almaty 2025 forum. As part of the partnership, AgiBot aims to create a joint venture in Kazakhstan for the production and implementation of robots and artificial intelligence solutions," the Ministry of Digital Development stated.

It is specified that AgiBot, founded in February 2023, specializes in the development and manufacturing of humanoid robots for general purposes. AgiBot is actively advancing technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics, creating robots for a wide range of applications—from industrial uses to household tasks. By December 2024, the number of robots produced at AgiBot's Shanghai facility reached 1,000 units.

Notably, Kazakhstan is viewed as the first country in the region for localizing production and further exporting developments. Within the partnership, it is expected that AgiBot, together with the Ministry of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry, will launch a "data factory" for training robots and robotic systems.

"Partnering with such an advanced company as AgiBot is a significant step in the evolution of the robotics industry. It is especially important to highlight that our partnership implies the localization of robot production within Kazakhstan. This will not only allow us to launch an enterprise in one of the most promising engineering sectors but also to enhance expertise and create a domestic center of competence in robotics," emphasized the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Jaslan Madiyev.

Funding for joint initiatives is planned with the participation of the private investment fund ewpartners and JSC 'Qazaqstan Investment Corporation'.

It is anticipated that soon a joint R&D center and an exhibition of AgiBot's prototype robots will be established at the international center for artificial intelligence, Alem AI. Additionally, the company plans collaborations with Kazakhstani universities to create joint scientific projects and train students in robot assembly.

Recall that during the forum, the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, announced that by the end of 2025, all 77 common processes in the field of ICT are intended to be adopted within the EAEU.

"Currently, the technological solution for the integrated information system is to ensure seamless interactions between national digital platforms, both state and commercial. As a result, cross-border services can be provided in a trusted and secure environment under mutually acceptable and clear rules for all participants. At this point, we can talk about full-scale intergovernmental electronic G-to-G, B-to-G, and C-to-G interactions. This has been made possible by the launch of a secure data network and the phased implementation of common processes," he noted.

According to him, all 77 common processes have been approved, of which 42 have been implemented. The commission has prepared another 24 for implementation, and their launch depends on the readiness of the national segments of the member states.

"The preparation of the remaining 11 processes will be ensured by the end of this year. Data exchange within the framework of common processes is carried out in areas such as customs cooperation, technical regulation, trade, labor migration, and others. For example, the common process for maintaining a unified registry of documents confirming product compliance with safety requirements has significantly reduced bureaucratic procedures for businesses," Bakytzhan Sagintayev reported.
