During a briefing at the Ministry of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliev, the Head of the Ministry, shared insights on when the consortium for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan is expected to be established, as reported by a correspondent from NUR.KZ.

"The timelines have been established: in the first half of this year, we plan to announce the configuration in which we will construct the first nuclear power plant," - stated Almasadam Satkaliyev.

According to him, last week the agency received answers to the questions that had previously been sent to all participants in the tender process.

"A list of 207 questions across 19 sections was compiled. All of them are related to the construction and operation of the station. This was sent to all potential vendors. We have now received these responses. We are currently analyzing them.

Preliminary review has been conducted, and the material presented was discussed at the relevant interdepartmental commission. It's too early to talk about favorites. Based on the review and within the established timelines, possibly even earlier, a decision will be made regarding the winner," - summarized the minister.

Prior to this, the head of the Ministry of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, informed at a briefing about the timelines for the commencement of construction work on the nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.

He also shared which locations in Kazakhstan are being considered for the construction of nuclear power plants.
