According to the official Telegram channel of the government, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and the head of the Presidential Administration Aibek Dadebay attended a meeting of the Maslikhat of Turkestan Region.

A letter from the head of state was read to the deputies regarding the nomination of two candidates for the position of akim of Turkestan Region. Nuralhan Kushev, the deputy akim of Turkestan Region, and Mukhit Turyzbekov, akim of the Sozak district, were proposed for consideration. The election commission summarized the results of the open voting, with 224 votes in favor of Nuralhan Kushev out of 288.

As a result of the Maslikhat meeting, by the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nuralhan Oralbaevich Kushev was appointed akim of Turkestan Region.

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, during a meeting with the active members of Turkestan Region, thanked Darkhan Satybaldy for his contributions to the region's development and wished him success in his future endeavors.

The tasks set by the head of state for the region's leadership were announced.

In light of the goal to strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life for the population, as outlined in an interview with the newspaper Ana tili, priority areas include economic diversification and transitioning to cluster production, creating new productive jobs, enhancing the investment attractiveness of the SEZ "TURAN" and the region as a whole, unlocking transport and logistics potential, and advancing the development of the agricultural sector.

A number of tasks were set to ensure that the population has access to affordable and quality drinking water, stable food prices, and modernization of engineering infrastructure.

"Given the historical and spiritual significance of the regional center - Turkestan - special attention has been instructed to be given to preserving cultural heritage and strengthening ties between the fraternal peoples of the Turkic world, as well as developing the tourism sector," the government reported.

It is worth noting that the day before, it became known that the deputies of the Maslikhat of Turkestan Region were convened for a meeting to give their consent to the appointment of the head of the region.

Today, it was reported at Akorda that Darkhan Satybaldy has been relieved of his duties as akim of Turkestan Region. He has become the first deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

By the decree of the head of state, Nuralhan Kushev has been appointed akim of Turkestan Region. Prior to this, he held the position of deputy head of the region since January 2023.
