KTZ launches digital test sites.

According to IDC, global spending on AI is increasing by an average of over 30% per year, with the GenAI market more than doubling last year. IDC anticipates that the total global expenditure on AI technologies will exceed $620 billion by 2028. This information was presented by IDC Vice President Andrey Beklemishev at the international forum Digital Almaty.

As an example of AI application in Kazakhstan, Andrey Beklemishev mentioned the initiative of the company "Қазақстан темір жолы".

"The test sites will become key platforms where IT companies, universities, and technoparks can not only develop various components of artificial intelligence but also test their solutions in practice, adapting them to the real conditions of railway transport," the company noted.

It was also emphasized that priority will be given to Kazakhstani developers.

Earlier, it was reported that train No. 3/4 "Astana-Almaty" became the first in Kazakhstan to provide passengers with internet access as part of a pilot project. KTZ noted that the satellite equipment installed on the locomotive provides stable and high-speed internet throughout the entire route. They plan to further scale the service, starting with internet connectivity on all 15 Talgo train routes.
