The defender of “Tobol” Ivan Miladinovich stated to “RB Sport” that borscht in Russia and Kazakhstan differs, as reported by Sports.kz.
He also admitted that he often thinks back to Russia.
— How often do you think about Russia and what do you miss the most? — asked Miladinovich.
— I think about Russia often; I spent nearly 7 years there. It was a wonderful time. I generally miss the country. As I mentioned before, I was welcomed very warmly; I felt at home.
— Do you miss Russian cuisine? And how different is Kazakh cuisine?
— I certainly enjoy Russian cuisine. However, the food in Kazakhstan isn't that different; the difference is quite minimal. Plus, I try to eat what I'm used to—fish, rice, some salads, which are pretty much the same everywhere. Borscht is also available in Kazakhstan; I tried it, but for some reason, it’s slightly different from the Russian version. Borscht tastes better in Russia. Dumplings? I don’t miss them; I’ve never eaten them.
