Maire Tecnimont is keen on pursuing projects related to sustainable aviation fuel.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, met with the heads of Italian companies, leading manufacturers of equipment in the energy and oil and gas chemistry sectors, to discuss the implementation of agreements and memoranda signed during the Kazakhstan-Italy roundtable with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Rome this January, as reported by the government press service.

During negotiations with the CEO of Ansaldo Energia, Fabrizio Fabbric, measures to enhance the efficiency of energy infrastructure through the application of innovative technologies were discussed. The experience of the Italian company in the development of gas and steam turbines is seen as promising in this regard. According to a previously signed agreement, two gas turbines will be produced for the Almaty TPP-3. In this context, both parties are interested in mutually beneficial cooperation and the localization of components for gas turbine installations in Kazakhstan. This will enable the production of various components for gas turbine generating units within the country and will create high-tech supply chains in the electricity generation equipment sector.

In a meeting with the President of Maire Tecnimont, Alessandro Bernini, the interaction in the field of deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials and the increase of high-quality, competitive products with high added value was discussed.

Currently, large-scale projects are being implemented in Kazakhstan for the construction of plants producing polymers and other essential products that are in demand in global markets. In turn, Maire Tecnimont is interested in participating in the implementation of investment projects in the production of polyethylene, butadiene, sustainable aviation fuel, and the construction of a gas separation complex.

It is important to note that the partnership on the sustainable aviation fuel project will significantly contribute to the development of green technologies in Kazakhstan's aviation sector. The production of this fuel will help reduce carbon emissions, enhance the environmental safety of flights, and strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the global market for eco-friendly technologies.

Following the meetings, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov emphasized the importance of large-scale infrastructure initiatives aimed at diversifying and changing the structure of the economy with a focus on processing, and confirmed the government's readiness to assist foreign investors at all stages of implementing joint projects.
