A six-kilogram baby was born in the Zhambyl region. Such infants are referred to as "giant fetuses" in global obstetric practice, as reported by Tengri Life, citing the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan.
This was the first childbirth for the mother of the giant baby, and thanks to the professionalism of the medical staff, it was successfully completed via cesarean section. According to doctors, such deliveries have significant advantages in cases of substantial fetal weight, as the risk of birth injuries is almost eliminated.
"The baby was born weighing 6 kilograms and 140 grams," the Ministry of Health reported.
Today, the new mother and her newborn are preparing for discharge from the Kordai district hospital.
Previously, a baby weighing over six kilograms was born in the East Kazakhstan region.
