Investments in the construction of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" will amount to approximately 50 billion tenge, announced the Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliev, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.
"According to preliminary estimates, the necessary investments for the center's construction are around 50 billion tenge," said Arman Shakkaliev while discussing the project for ratifying the Agreement between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the regulation of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" during a plenary session of the Mazhilis on Wednesday.
Additionally, there are plans to significantly increase trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
"In 2023 and 2024, the trade turnover was approximately at the same level, around 4-4.1 billion dollars. To raise the trade turnover to 10 billion dollars, a plan has been prepared today amounting to 7 billion dollars and signed by the deputy prime ministers of both countries: 34 projects totaling 4.5 billion dollars represent specific trade contracts. We also have an additional plan with concrete actions across sectors to boost the trade turnover to 10 billion dollars," reported the head of the Ministry of Trade.
It is noteworthy that today the Mazhilis deputies approved a draft law on the establishment of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia."
"This is an important step in the development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan," said Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliev while presenting the document.
The center will be constructed near the border crossing points "Atameken" and "Gulistan" and will include production facilities, warehouses, and transportation infrastructure.
