Former UFC welterweight champion (up to 77 kg) British fighter Leon Edwards named what he considers the greatest MMA fighter in history, as reported by Sports.kz referencing Championat.com.
“When it comes to the best fighter, I would say Jon Jones. In second place for me is Anderson Silva,” Edwards stated in The Louis Theroux podcast. It’s worth noting that Kazakh fighter Shavkat Rakmonov competes in the welterweight division.
Jon Jones is 37 years old. The American made his professional fighting debut in 2008, the same year he joined the UFC. In March 2011, Jones became the organization's champion in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg), after which he made eight title defenses.
In December 2018, Jones became a two-time champion in the light heavyweight division and, after three title defenses, moved to the heavyweight division (up to 120 kg), where he also became champion.
