The acting head coach of the national team of Kazakhstan has been appointed to the domestic specialist Ali Aliyev, as reported by Sports.kz citing the press service of the KFF.

Aliyev was born on October 27, 1980, in Almaty. During his playing career, he represented clubs such as "CSKA-Kairat," "Kairat," "Irtysh," "Tobol," "Vostok," "Ordabasy," and "Kyzylzhar." He also has experience playing for Turkish teams "Akchaabat Sebatspor," "Kayseri Erciyesspor," "Kartalspor," and "Diyarbakirspor."

In 1999, he played for the youth national team of Kazakhstan at the World Youth Championship held in Nigeria. He made his debut for the national team in 2002 in a friendly match against Estonia.

Aliyev started his coaching career as a player-coach at "Ordabasy" in 2014. After finishing his playing career in 2018, he took over the Petropavlovsk "Kyzylzhar" and led the team to the Premier League.

In 2021, Aliyev served as the head coach of the Karaganda "Shakhtar," and later he led the youth team of FC "Astana."

In 2022, he managed the "Zhenis" team, after which he returned to lead "Kyzylzhar." Under his guidance, the Petropavlovsk club reached the third round of the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, where they triumphed over the Croatian "Osijek."

From 2001 to 2014, he represented the national team of Kazakhstan, playing 58 matches.

From 2021 to 2023, he worked as an assistant to the head coach of the youth national team of Kazakhstan.

Akhmetov also played for the national team of Kazakhstan from 2012 to 2022. In 2024, he was an assistant to the head coach of the youth team and in October of the same year joined the coaching staff of the national team.
