Authorities have reported that five people lost their lives in the fire near Los Angeles in Eaton. Currently, tens of thousands of residents have been ordered to evacuate, and officials have strongly urged residents to heed warnings and leave their homes.

According to The Guardian, actor Cary Elwes confirmed on Wednesday that his family managed to evacuate safely, however, their home in Malibu was destroyed by the fire.

"Unfortunately, we lost our home, but we are grateful to have survived this terrible fire," he wrote.
"Our hearts go out to the families affected by this tragedy, and we express our gratitude to all the firefighters, rescuers, and law enforcement personnel who tirelessly worked through the night and continue to battle the blaze."
According to information from The Guardian, the raging wildfires around Los Angeles since January 7 have claimed at least five lives, destroyed nearly 2,000 homes and buildings, and led to the evacuation of over 130,000 people.
