According to the investigation, in August 2022, he attempted to smuggle a large quantity of hashish and mephedrone across the border into Kazakhstan but was apprehended by border guards in the Kostanay region.

Initially, he was assigned a preventive measure not involving arrest; however, he took advantage of this and went into hiding from the investigation. As a result, he was placed on an international wanted list.

In May 2024, the fugitive was apprehended in Yekaterinburg, after which he was returned to Kazakhstan at the request of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan. He is currently held in a detention center.

For large-scale drug trafficking, he faces a prison sentence of 7 to 12 years, along with the confiscation of property.
