The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, explained why he shaved his beard and mustache for the first time since 2018, as reported by Tengri Life referencing "News-Armenia".
The head of the Armenian government decided to change his appearance in mid-November. He shared a video about this on his Telegram channel. At that time, the politician did not specify why he chose to shave at that moment.
Now, in an interview with Armenian media, Pashinyan revealed that he chose the birthday of his eldest daughter for the day he decided to shave.
"When (the interview - ed.) airs, my other daughters will ask: why not on our birthday? I think, in this regard, Ashot (his son - ed.) is not as ambitious and won't raise this issue," Pashinyan said.
"In 2018, when I took office as Prime Minister, and even a bit earlier, when it became clear that I would be elected Prime Minister, the information flows raised more questions than answers. There were many questions to which I had no answers; it was obvious that I would face difficulties in answering these questions myself," Pashinyan stated.
He admitted that after the 2020 war in Artsakh, for four years he went to sleep and woke up with questions for himself.
"There were questions that had been asked thousands of times. At the moment I made this decision (to shave - ed.), I no longer have questions for myself. I have answered all the questions I posed to myself. And that is good," Pashinyan explained his decision to shave.
Nikol Pashinyan came to power on the wave of mass protests that began in mid-April 2018. At that time, alongside the mass unrest, there was a transformation in the politician's image - he began to grow a beard and predominantly wear camouflage clothing.
