In 2025, the development and updating of 60 professional standards covering 336 professions is planned across eight industries. In total, the plan for 2024-2026 includes the creation of 250 professional standards encompassing 1,371 professions. This was announced by the Minister of Industry, Kanat Sharlapaev, during a government meeting, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.
"This year, we plan to test a new approach to the preparation of professional standards using artificial intelligence technologies, which will significantly simplify and shorten the development process in the future. If the trial is successful, this approach will be scaled up," he noted.
In the industrial sector, training is conducted using dual education in 284 colleges, involving over 700 industrial enterprises. More than 30 educational programs are implemented under signed contracts and memorandums with companies. As a result, over 13,000 young specialists are provided with permanent employment each year.
"Additionally, systematic career orientation events are organized for a thousand school students. In 2024, more than 2,000 students completed internships at industrial enterprises. To introduce advanced educational technologies, international partnerships are being further developed. For example, in 2024, Allur Group, in collaboration with the University of Erfurt in Germany, established the International Center for Dual Education," Kanat Sharlapaev reported.
In 2024, a branch of the D.I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical Technology University was opened in Taraz with the support of "Kazphosphate." In the future, further development of dual education is planned through its expansion and implementation in newly established enterprises.
"Since 2019, Otbasy Bank has been implementing a corporate program to provide affordable housing for workers in the manufacturing sector. Over two years, 122 employees have been provided with housing. Additionally, to reduce the outflow of personnel from rural areas, a mechanism for subsidizing the expenses of employers who build housing for their employees has been established," the Minister of Industry clarified.
Currently, there is a shortage of specialists in the field of geology. The only Geological Exploration College in the country, located in the Aбай region, trains specialists in five fields related to the exploration of solid mineral resources.
"To promote the geology profession and increase interest among youth, the public fund 'Zhas Geolog' has been established, and the status of the departmental award has been revised to the state award 'Eңbek sіñіrgen geolog.' Work is also underway in the construction industry. Over the past two years, more than 400 specialists have undergone advanced training courses in collaboration with the Association of Builders of Kazakhstan and BI University," the Minister specified.
Last year, 550 college students participated in the WorldSkills Kazakhstan championship, and among them, 108 winners received job offers from leading companies in the country.
