The General Director of the "Kazakhstan Copyright Society" (KazAK), Ainur Esendikova, was asked whether it is true that her biological sister is involved in the distribution of rewards within the organization, as reported by Tengri Life.
Today, KazAK held a press conference where they addressed questions regarding the conflict with Meta. During the event, a journalist inquired about the transparency of the organization’s operations.
"Who is responsible for the distribution of all rewards within the organization, and how exactly does this work?" - the journalist asked.
Esendikova explained that the process of distributing rewards is organized on a special platform provided by the World Intellectual Property Organization.
"We have a specific department that manages the distribution and oversees what happens with the payments. Since November, we have begun distributing all the funds that come to us. How this is distributed and how it operates internally is a long story. These are all technical details," - Ainur Esendikova responded.
The journalist then clarified whether relatives of KazAK employees are involved in the distribution of funds.
"Please confirm or deny: according to our information, your biological sister is handling this matter. Can you confirm she is your relative?" - he asked.
The General Director declined to answer this question.
"What does it matter if she is a biological sister or not? I really don’t understand. What relevance does this have? We are not a government organization, I repeat. And I am not obligated to tell the truth.
Some are relatives, some are not. What does this have to do with a close relative? This is not stipulated in our charter, nor is it prohibited. Our lawyer will respond to you," - she commented.
Previously, representatives of the "Kazakhstan Copyright Society" (KazAK) shared their version of the conflict with Meta, which led to the disappearance of music and songs by Kazakh performers from Instagram and Facebook. More details can be found in the article.
