"We have introduced the mobile application Armia.kz - it will be installed on all phones and will establish communication between parents and military units. In real-time, mothers and relatives can talk at any moment with the commander, educator, and soldiers during their free hours from combat training.
This is the army "in your pocket" - always in live contact. Relatives can learn about the conditions of service, medical examinations, and nutrition conditions, meaning they can find out the environment in which their son is serving. The application was developed by our own service members and is completely free," - stated Tleukhan Bashokhaev, head of the department for educational and ideological work of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to him, the application also incorporates "elements of artificial intelligence." It is set to be operational from 2025.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense commented on the incident in the Aktobe garrison, where a sergeant beat conscripts and forced them to eat cigarette butts.
The agency also provided updates on the investigation into the case of Mukhtar Yerbaian - a conscript soldier who returned from the army disabled.
Meanwhile, last autumn, during a briefing at the SCC, the Deputy Minister of Defense described claims regarding hazing and deaths in the Kazakh army as inaccurate. He stated that serving in the army during peacetime is no more dangerous than any other profession.
At that time, the agency also addressed the issue of soldiers allegedly soliciting money from parents for sweets, clarifying that this was not a demand from officers.
It is noteworthy that Kazakh citizens can receive and transmit data about military service through the eGov Mobile application. The updated version of the special application now includes two new digital pieces of information: details about conscription for mandatory military service - data about the conscription status of the citizen, as well as information regarding their relationship to military service - current information about the citizen's military obligation status.
