Prosecutors note that certain child support debtors are completely unresponsive to administrative penalties, and despite repeated summons, they continue to evade their obligations to pay child support for their own children.
For instance, six debtors have intentionally failed to comply with court decisions for over three years, accumulating a total debt exceeding 20 million tenge owed to their children. As a result, prosecutors have begun to implement strict measures against them and are bringing criminal charges under Article 139 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan for failing to fulfill their responsibility to provide for their children and other dependent family members.
Criminal cases against three of these individuals have already been submitted to court, with one resulting in a guilty verdict and the offender being sentenced. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing for the others.
Since the beginning of the year, prosecutors have assisted more than 30 children in receiving the funds owed to them by court order. Through supervisory acts, debts exceeding 50 million tenge have been recovered in their favor.
Regional prosecutor Madiyar Bashybaev emphasized the importance of protecting children's rights and stated that he is closely monitoring the work on enforcing child support payments.
