Fast food restaurant rankings in Kazakhstan: "Dodo Pizza" and KFC have emerged as the top contenders.

The QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) format includes establishments where food is prepared quickly, the menu is simple, and orders are taken at the counter or through terminals. This category encompasses both dine-in restaurants, such as KFC, Burger King, and "Dodo Pizza," as well as takeout-only places like Salam Bro or Bahandi Burger.

By the end of 2024, "Dodo Pizza" demonstrated record growth – the chain's revenue reached 46 billion tenge, which is 52% more than the previous year. There are now 100 locations of this chain operating in Kazakhstan, an increase of 20 over the past year.

KFC has dropped to second place, having opened only 11 new establishments. In contrast, Bauyrdaq Qazaq Fast Food, specializing in Kazakh cuisine, experienced the fastest growth, with nearly 50 new locations opening in a year.

Overall, the QSR market in Kazakhstan is rapidly expanding, particularly due to local brands. International chains like KFC and "Dodo Pizza" continue to grow, while I’m (formerly McDonald’s) has not yet shown any growth.

In 2024, the top 5 largest fast food chains opened 85 new restaurants – accounting for 34% of all establishments that emerged in the country. By the beginning of 2025, Kazakhstan will have more than 25,000 public catering points.
