During a meeting with representatives from the Agency, the Ministry of Transport, the Committees on Railway and Water Transport, sanitary and epidemiological control, JSC "National Company 'Kazakhstan Temir Zholy'," and the "Association of Carriers of Railway Transport for Socially Significant Communications," serious violations in the passenger transportation subsidy system were discussed.
Particular attention was given to certain private carriers that, despite substantial income from government support, fail to provide appropriate quality of services. This results in numerous complaints from passengers regarding the sanitary and technical condition of the carriages.
Issues related to ticket shortages and frequent train delays, which cause inconvenience for citizens, were also highlighted.
As a result of the meeting, the Agency proposed to revise the subsidy calculation methodology, address the digitalization of the subsidy system, ensure effective monitoring and control, conduct audits of the carrier companies, and increase the proportion of new carriages.
Monitoring of the elimination of corruption risks in the railway sector continues and is under special control of the Agency.
