Russia has presented Kazakhstan with a launch plan for space vehicles from the Baikonur Cosmodrome for the year 2025, as reported by Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry.
“In accordance with the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation dated November 18, 1999, concerning the procedure for submission and receipt of conclusions (approvals) on the plans for launching space vehicles and test launches of rockets from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the Russian side has communicated the Launch Plan for space vehicles for 2025 through diplomatic channels,” the ministry stated.
According to the document, launches in 2025 will be carried out within the framework of:
- The State Program of the Russian Federation “Space Activities of Russia”;
- International cooperation programs;
- Commercial projects.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed that the provided plan does not include launches of military-purpose space vehicles, nor test launches of rockets from the Baikonur Cosmodrome,” noted the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry.
The presented plan emphasizes the ongoing close cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation in the space sector, as well as adherence to international norms and principles of transparency, the agency added.
It should be noted that under the agreement between Kazakhstan and Russia, the annual rental fee for the Baikonur complex is set at $115 million.
