  3. Ruble 5.43.  (buy) – 5.74 (sell)

The difference between the buying and selling rates of the US dollar is 6 tenge. For the euro, this threshold has dropped to 5.5 tenge.

The difference in the dynamics of the tenge and ruble exchange rates is being highlighted

According to Magbat Spanov, an expert from the Institute of Innovative Economy and a professor at KazNU, the reasons for such a situation may be not only economic but also political. "If the ruble is more favorably regulated in agreements between Russia and the US, then the Kazakh tenge is not adapted to these negotiations," Spanov noted.

He believes that the political context influencing the exchange rate carries significant weight. Specifically, there are concerns that negotiations on the international stage in Kazakhstan may not lead to tangible results.

According to Spanov, the main issue for Kazakhstan right now is the repairs of the CPC. The Russian market is very important for Kazakhstan, "But for us, ensuring significant revenue from oil exports through the CPC platform repairs is crucial," the expert added.

In simple terms, Spanov is confident that as political risks increase globally and "global agreements" take place, there will be no room left for the economy in forming the tenge rate. "Therefore, unfortunately, the exchange rate of the tenge against the dollar or ruble has been politicized without a solid economic basis," says Magbat Spanov.
