The tanker named after Nursultan Nazarbayev, which has come under U.S. sanctions, is owned by the Russian company "Rosnefteflot." It was named in honor of the First President of Kazakhstan for his contribution to fostering friendship between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

More than 30 Russian companies involved in oil products were included in the newly announced sanctions package from the U.S.
