Tokaev and Mishustin agreed on new steps for cooperation between their countries.

At the Akorda residence, a meeting took place between the Head of State and the Chairman of the Government of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin, who is in Kazakhstan to participate in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Digital Almaty 2025 forum.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the prospects for developing the Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership, with a particular focus on strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation, including through the Eurasian Economic Union.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appreciated Mikhail Mishustin's personal contribution to strengthening the bonds of friendship and good neighborliness between the countries and noted the importance of implementing the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to Astana on November 27 of last year.

"The relations between our countries are on the rise and encompass almost all areas of cooperation. We view your visit to Astana as an important stage in realizing the agreements reached at the highest level. During Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin's visit to Kazakhstan, the regional forum in Ufa was successfully held. This year, we have planned to hold another forum now in Uralsk, on the territory of Kazakhstan. I believe this format of cooperation undoubtedly brings beneficial results," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated.

For his part, Mikhail Mishustin expressed his readiness to continue the practical implementation of the tasks set by the heads of the two states.

"I would like to take this opportunity to convey the best wishes from the President of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Indeed, he was here with a historic state visit in November of last year. And you, esteemed Kassym-Jomart Kemelievich, visited Russia in December, in St. Petersburg. The regional forum is very important for us. The regions of Russia directly interact with many areas of Kazakhstan. This, as you said, is a very important format, and we will continue to support the growth of its effectiveness in every possible way. Kazakhstan is a close neighbor and ally of the Russian Federation. Our relations are built on the principles of friendship and mutual respect," the Chairman of the Government of Russia remarked.

Mikhail Mishustin informed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the outcomes of the negotiations between the governmental delegations of Kazakhstan and Russia, noting that the agreements reached across the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda will serve to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the meeting, special attention was given to the further implementation of joint projects in energy, industry, transport infrastructure, agriculture, and other areas. Current issues regarding scientific, technical, and cultural-humanitarian interaction were also discussed.

The Head of State announced that he accepted the invitation from the President of Russia to attend events dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory.
