Tokayev instructed KMG to enhance geological exploration and advance the oil and gas chemistry sector.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received a report on the results of the national company's activities for 2024. As Askat Khasenov reported, the volume of oil and condensate production by the KMG group of companies reached 23.8 million tons, exceeding the figure for 2023 by 1.3%. To maintain production levels, a Technological Challenges Program is being implemented, which involves applying enhanced oil recovery methods with a differentiated approach to each oil field.

The President was informed that the design phase has commenced for the Kalamkas-More project, which is valued at $6.4 billion. Additionally, in 2024, drilling began at the Turgai Paleozoic, Karaton Podsolevoy, Karazhar, and Taisoygan wells, whose resources exceed 800 million tons in oil equivalent.

The head of state was informed that the volume of oil transportation in 2024 surpassed the 2023 figure by 4%, totaling 83.6 million tons.

Domestic oil refineries processed 17.44 million tons of oil last year. Measures have been taken to increase the production of light oil products by 370,000 tons compared to 2023 in order to meet the domestic market demand.

As reported by the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas", a project to increase bitumen production to 750,000 tons per year at LLP "CASPI BITUM" is currently underway. Preliminary construction work has begun on a polyethylene production plant valued at $7.4 billion, with a capacity of 1 million 250 thousand tons of products per year.

In the Mangistau region, the construction of a desalination plant is underway to provide quality drinking water to the residents of the city of Zhanaozen, and the construction of a hybrid power plant with a capacity of 247 MW has also begun.

Furthermore, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with information on the implementation of social projects in the regions of the country.
