The Head of State inspected the new dormitory for students, master's students, and doctoral candidates at the Eurasian National University, designed to accommodate 2,656 residents.
Constructed under a public-private partnership, the student residence consists of three modern blocks. Each block is equipped with co-working areas, libraries, sports facilities, and commercial spaces, creating the most comfortable living and studying conditions.
During the construction of the dormitory, the needs of students with special requirements were taken into account. The design and infrastructure fully comply with the standards for an accessible environment.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education reported to the President on the establishment of an academic hub in the country through the opening of branches of foreign universities and measures to provide students with accommodations.
The President positively assessed the work being done in this direction and emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the field of education and youth exchanges. He also commented on the metapneumovirus, which is causing concern in society.
– Right now, everyone is talking about a new infection. There’s no need to create panic. We must continue to develop cooperation with China, – believes the Head of State.
In a conversation with students, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that in an interview with the newspaper Ana tili, he specifically addressed the topics of digitalization and the development of artificial intelligence in the country. According to him, these advanced technologies will be implemented across all sectors. The President emphasized that he places special hopes on the youth.
Last year, 40 dormitories with a capacity of 11,079 places were put into operation in the country. This year, it is planned to launch 7 dormitories in Astana with a total of 3,400 places.
Currently, ENU has eight student residences with a total capacity of 4,280 places. Additionally, the university collaborates with eight private dormitories. By 2025, the total number of places is expected to increase to 10,000, which will completely resolve the housing issue for all non-local students.
